Went to a pub instead of revising for theory test
I think I have some difficulties saying ‘no" sometimes. Yesterday I was supposed to study for my theory test, which I"m taking on Wednesday, but two friends of mine dropped in and said they were going to the pub. They asked me to go with them, of course, and I could not refuse. We went to a pub which is very near the university. I used to spend long hours there when I was still a student, so I know the place very well. It"s actually a pub and a restaurant at the same time. The place is quite dark, and even when it"s a sunny day outside, you feel as if you suddenly entered a different world. There are small windows with colourful stained glass in them. Candles are lit all over the place. Yesterday the pub was quite busy. We sat at my favourite table and ordered two bottles of beer (one for me and one for Ann) and a cup of coffee for Emily, who was going to drive home later. We started talking about something, I don"t remember what about, but the conversation was fascinating and we forgot what time it was. Then Emily could no longer watch us drinking beer so I ordered a bottle for her, too. I promised her she could spend the night at my place and drive to work tomorrow. Of course, when we finally arrived home at midnight, we did not feel sleepy at all. We kept on talking till 2 a.m. In this way, I did not even manage to open my theory test book.
